PENCIL AND PAPER
If you would like to use the pencil-and-paper approach, click here to download a two-page PDF budget template. These are facing pages (a left and a right), each containing 8 columns. If you have just a few budget funds (columns), print only the sheet with TOTALS in the right column.
MICROSOFT X-L
For those of you who have Microsoft X-L installed (either Mac or PC), download your spreadsheet template by clicking here. The first page is a sample, which you can later delete—or not. Then you’ve got 12 months worth of worksheets after that.
GOOGLE DOCS
If you don’t have Microsoft X-L but would still like to use an electronic spreadsheet, I’ve created one for you using Google Docs. The contents are the same as the X-L spreadsheet above. In order to access this one, you will need to create a free Google account if you don’t already have one. When the spreadsheet first appears, go to the File menu on the document itself and save it with a new name. Then it will be editable for you. You’ll want to restrict online access, no? To download, click the heading of this section or click here. Let me know if the link doesn’t work for you. I tested it, but Google Docs are new to me, so…
HANDOFF WORKSHEET
Regardless of which budget template you download, you will probably want the Handoff Worksheet. It will help determine how much to contribute to each fund, regardless of how often you are paid. Click here to download.
EXPENSE SHEET
As explained in Budget 107, this cream puff is just too easy to use. To download, click the section header or click here.
